More info

How to use it

Choose a picture and pick a shape: 1:1 for a square post, 4:5 for a tall post, 9:16 for stories, Reels, TikTok and WhatsApp status, 16:9 for wide screens, or 3:4. The whole picture is placed in the middle, so nothing is cut off. Fill the empty space with a blurred copy of the picture, a color of your choice, or leave it transparent. Then download it as a JPG or PNG.

Space around the picture adds a border on every side, and Rounded corners softens the picture’s corners. The preview shows exactly what you will save.

Tips

The blurred background looks best on busy photos; for screenshots and drawings, white or black usually reads better. Pick 1080 px for posts and stories: apps shrink anything bigger. Use 2160 px if you want to print it or keep a sharp copy. JPG files are smaller; PNG keeps text and sharp edges crisp.

Questions

Why does Instagram crop my photo? Posts must be between 1.91:1 wide and 4:5 tall, so a wider or taller photo gets cut. Fitting it into a 1:1 or 4:5 frame first keeps all of it. Is my picture uploaded? No. It is opened and drawn inside your browser and never leaves your device. Why are the transparent corners black in the app? Many apps don’t keep transparency and fill it in; pick a color background instead. Can I use an iPhone HEIC photo? Browsers can’t open HEIC; share it as JPG first, or use the Image Converter.
