Markdown in a minute
# Heading up to ###### for smaller headings · **bold** · *italic* · ~~strike~~ · `code` · [text](https://address) for a link · - item or 1. item for lists, with indented lines for sub-items · - [ ] task for a checklist · > quote · --- for a line · three backticks around a block of code · and tables written with | and a row of dashes under the header, where :--, :-: and --: align the column.
Is it safe?
Yes. Everything you type is converted to safe HTML on your device: raw HTML tags are shown as plain text instead of being run, links must start with http, https or mailto (so javascript: links are dropped), and pictures become links rather than being loaded from another site. Nothing is uploaded.
Questions
Is this the same as GitHub’s Markdown? It covers the everyday parts. Rarer features (footnotes, raw HTML, automatic emoji codes, pictures shown in line) are not included, so a very elaborate README may look a little different.
Is my text saved? It is kept in this browser so a refresh doesn’t lose it. Press Clear to remove it. For longer writing with several documents, try Notes.
