How the test works
Pick a length (1, 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds), then click the big box as fast as you can. The timer starts with your first click, so you have time to get ready. When it ends you see the number of clicks and your clicks per second (CPS), which is clicks divided by seconds. Your best score for each length is saved in this browser. You can also use the space bar, which lets you test your keyboard speed instead.
What is a good score?
Most people manage 5 to 7 clicks per second in a 10-second test. Over 8 is fast, 10 or more takes practice or a special technique such as jitter clicking (tensing the arm so the finger vibrates) or butterfly clicking (two fingers on one button), and the current records are around 14 to 16 CPS. Longer tests give lower averages because your hand tires, so compare scores for the same length.
Questions
Why is my score lower on a phone? Touch screens can drop quick taps, and some phones ignore taps closer together than a few hundredths of a second. Does it count double-clicks? Every press of the button counts once. Is it saved anywhere online? No, only your best score on this device. For other reflex tests, try the Reaction Test, and for typing speed, Duck Type.
