How to play Spanish Verb Rush
Each question gives you a person (yo, tú, ella, nosotros…), a verb and a tense. Type the form and pressEnter. You have 90 seconds, or pick No clock to work through 20 at your own pace.
- Right: a point, and the next verb comes up.
- Right but an accent is missing: still a point, and the form is listed at the end under “Accents to watch”.
- Wrong or empty: you see the verb’s whole table for that tense before moving on.
No Spanish keyboard? Use the á é í ó ú ñ ü buttons under the box. You can type the pronoun too (yo hablo); it’s ignored.
The tenses
- Presente: what happens or is happening (hablo, I speak).
- Pretérito: a finished past action (hablé, I spoke).
- Imperfecto: what used to happen or was going on (hablaba, I used to speak).
- Futuro: what will happen (hablaré, I will speak).
- Condicional: what would happen (hablaría, I would speak).
- Subjuntivo: the present subjunctive, used after wishes, doubts and que (que hable).
The vosotros forms (used in Spain) are left out, as in most courses that teach Latin American Spanish.
