How to play
- Both players see the same line-up of 24 ducks, and each has a secret duck from it. Your duck is shown at the top.
- Take turns asking one yes-or-no question about the other player’s duck: its colour, its hat, its neckwear, whether it wears glasses, or whether it looks sleepy.
- The answer comes straight from the duck, so nobody can fib. Every duck that doesn’t fit the answer drops off your board.
- On your turn you can name the duck instead of asking. Name the right one and you win; name the wrong one and you lose.
- Who asks first swaps from game to game.
Tips
The best question splits the ducks still standing about in half, so a yes and a no both help. Every look is shared by six or eight of the 24, so as the board shrinks, look for the question that still divides what’s left. Keep an eye on how many ducks your rival has left. If they’re down to one or two and you’re not, a guess may be your best chance.
