How to play
Two dice are rolled under a cup, and only the player holding it looks. Read them with the higher die first, so a 5 and a 3 is 53. From lowest to highest the scores go 31, 32, 41, 42, 43, 51 and on up to 65, then the doubles from double 1s to double 6s, and at the very top 21, the Big Quack.
The cup holder says a score higher than the last one said, true or not, and passes the cup on. The next player either believes it, takes the cup and rolls, and must then say something higher still; or lifts the cup. If the dice are at least what was said, the one who lifted it loses a life. If not, the one who said it does.
A Big Quack can’t be beaten, so the next player must lift the cup or give up. Lifting a true Big Quack costs two lives; giving up costs one. Whoever lost a life starts the next round. The last player with lives left wins.
Tips
When you have to lie, the score just above the last one is the obvious choice, so everyone suspects it. Sometimes go a step higher. When you believe a high score, you’ll have to beat it yourself, so lifting the cup is often the safer choice late in a round.
