How to play
One player is the thinker. Either the phone picks a secret thing for them (animals, food, everyday objects, places, jobs or nature) and shows it only to them, or they think of one themselves. The others take turns asking questions that can be answered with yes or no, such as “Is it alive?” or “Could I fit it in a backpack?”. The thinker taps the honest answer, and the phone keeps count of the twenty questions, with a tally and a log of the answers so far.
If someone guesses the secret, press They guessed it!. If all twenty questions are used up, the thinker wins and reveals the secret. A mis-tap can be taken back with Undo. “Sometimes” is for questions where the honest answer is neither.
Tips for good questions
Start wide (“Is it something you can eat?”) and narrow down. Use the yes and no answers to rule out whole groups. Save direct guesses for when you are fairly sure, because a wrong guess still costs a question.
Does it need the internet? Only to load the page. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Can we play on a video call? Yes: pick Play online and everyone joins the same room on their own phone. The secret shows only on the thinker’s screen.
