How to run a draw
Type each person on their own line (at least three), add any pairs who should not draw each other, such as “Ann & Ben”, and press Draw names. The draw is random: everyone gives one gift and receives one gift, and nobody gets themselves.
Pass the phone is for people in the same room. Each person taps their own name, reads who they got, taps Hide and passes the phone on. Private links is for a group chat: copy a link for each person and send it to them on its own. The link opens a page that shows only their name and their person.
Questions
Is this really secret? The draw happens on your device and nothing is sent to a server. A private link holds that one pair in its address, lightly scrambled so it isn’t readable at a glance, so treat each link like a sealed note: send it only to its owner. Don’t open other people’s links.
What if someone drops out? Remove them from the list and draw again; everyone gets a new person, so tell the group the old links no longer count.
Why does it say no draw is possible? Too many rules for a small group, for example three people where two cannot draw each other. Remove a rule or add someone.
Are the names saved? The list of names and rules are kept in this browser so you can come back to edit them. The draw itself is not saved, so reloading the page starts a fresh draw.
