How the conversion works
Type an amount and choose how it is paid: per hour, day, week, two weeks, month or year. The page turns it into a yearly total using your working time, then shows that total in every other period. The usual full-time setting is 40 hours a week, 5 days a week and 52 paid weeks, which makes $20 an hour equal to $800 a week and $41,600 a year.
Change hours for part-time work, or paid weeks if you get unpaid leave. Monthly pay is a twelfth of the yearly total. Every-two-weeks pay is half the weekly paid weeks, so a 52-week year gives 26 pay checks.
Questions
Is this before or after tax? The figures are gross, meaning before any tax or deductions. They are plain multiplication and division of the numbers you enter.
Why is my monthly number not hourly × 160? Months have different lengths. Dividing the year by 12 gives the same pay each month, which is how salaried pay usually works.
Does it include overtime or bonuses? No. Add them to the amount yourself, or convert them separately and add the results. Your settings are kept in this browser; the amount you type is not stored.
