Random Number & Name Picker

Fair, from your browser's secure random

Press Pick.

More info

How to use it

Numbers: set the lowest and highest value (both can be picked), choose how many numbers you want and press Pick. Switch on No repeats to draw like lottery balls, where each number can come out only once.

Names from a list: type one name or choice per line, say how many to pick, and press Pick. Use it for a raffle, choosing who goes first, picking a student to answer, or drawing several winners at once with no repeats.

Is it fair?

Every pick uses your browser’s secure random number generator, the same source used for passwords, and avoids the small bias that simple shortcuts add. With no repeats, the names are shuffled and the first ones taken, so every entry has the same chance.

Questions

How big can the range be? Whole numbers from minus one billion to one billion, up to 1,000 picks at a time.

Why does it say there are only a few numbers in the range? With no repeats you can’t pick more numbers than the range holds. Widen the range or turn off No repeats.

Want a spinning wheel instead? Try Spin the Wheel, or Dice & Coin for dice and a coin flip. Your list is saved in this browser and never uploaded.
