How to make a quote card

Type or paste your quote and, if you like, who said it. Choose a color theme, a shape and a font, and the card on the right updates as you go. The text is sized automatically to fill the card, so a short line comes out big and a long one gets smaller. When it looks right, press Download PNG. Square (1080 × 1080) suits most feeds and chat apps, Story (1080 × 1920) fits tall phone screens, and Wide (1200 × 630) works for link previews and slides.

Tips for a card people read

Keep it short: one or two sentences. Use strong contrast between the text and the background (the dark and light pairs here are chosen for that). Left alignment reads better for long quotes, and centered text looks best for a single line. Give credit by filling in the author, and only share words you have the right to share; short quotes with credit are usual, but longer extracts or recent works can be protected.

Questions

Is my text sent anywhere? No. The card is drawn in your browser and saved on your device, and your last settings are remembered here. Can I add my own picture or font? Not yet; the cards use the colors and fonts of this site. Why does the first download look different? If the fonts are still loading, wait a second and the preview will redraw before you save.
