How to make a worksheet

Tick the kinds of problem you want (any mix of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and set the smallest and largest numbers to use. For example, 1 to 10 gives times-table practice for multiplication, and 10 to 99 gives two-digit addition. Choose how many problems you want, from 10 to 60, and how many columns to lay them out in. Press New worksheet to make a fresh set, then Print. The printout has a name and date line at the top, and a second page with all the answers unless you untick the answer key box. Show answers lets you check the sheet on screen.

How the problems are chosen

Every problem is made fresh and the answers are worked out by the computer, so the answer key is always right. Subtraction never gives a negative answer unless you allow it, by putting the larger number first. Division problems always come out evenly, with no remainders, and never divide by zero: the tool picks the answer and the divisor first and multiplies to make the number to be divided. When you pick more than one kind of problem, they are mixed in equal numbers and shuffled.

Questions

Is it okay to use these in my classroom or at home? Yes, print as many as you like. Are my settings saved? Only on this device, so the tool opens with your last choices. Nothing is uploaded. Can I get the same worksheet again? No, each press makes a new random one; print or save the page to PDF if you want to keep it. For checking a single sum, use the Percentage Calculator or the Fraction Calculator.
