Duplicate Line Remover & Sorter

One item per line

Paste a list, one item per line.

More info

How to use it

Paste a list with one item per line. The result updates as you tick options, in this order: trim spaces, remove blank lines, remove duplicates, sort, reverse, and finally number the lines. When duplicates are removed the first copy of each line stays, in its place.

Sorting choices: A to Z and Z to A ignore capital letters; Natural puts “item 2” before “item 10”; Number sorts by the first number found in each line (prices, scores, ids), with lines that have no number placed last; Shortest and longest first sort by length; Shuffle puts the lines in random order, and Shuffle again reshuffles.

Questions

What counts as a duplicate? Two lines that are exactly the same, letter for letter. Tick “Ignore case when comparing” to treat Apple and apple as one, and “Trim spaces” so a trailing space doesn’t make a line look different.

Can I clean up a long email list or keyword list? Yes. Paste it, remove duplicates and blanks, sort, and copy the result. Lists of tens of thousands of lines work.

Is my list uploaded? No, it never leaves your browser and is not saved; only your option choices are. To change letter case instead, use the Text Case Converter.
