How to resize a picture
- Choose a picture, drop it on the page or paste it from the clipboard.
- Type a new width or height. While the two are linked, the other one follows so the picture keeps its shape. Or tap 25%, 50% or 75%.
- Pick JPG for photos, PNG for screenshots and pictures with transparency, or WebP for the smallest files on the web.
- Check the preview and the new file size, then press Download.
Questions
Is my picture uploaded? No. Resizing happens inside your browser, so the picture never leaves your device and works offline once the page has loaded.
How do I make a file smaller? Make it narrower (1280 or 1920 pixels wide is plenty for most screens), save as JPG or WebP, and lower the quality to around 75–85%. The page shows how much smaller it got.
Can I make a picture bigger? Yes, but enlarging can’t add detail, so it will look softer.
Why did my transparent background turn white? JPG has no transparency. Save as PNG or WebP to keep it.
What about iPhone HEIC photos? Most browsers can’t open HEIC files yet. On an iPhone, sharing the photo usually converts it to JPG first.
