What each tab does

Type matchups shows what hurts a typing and what it shrugs off. Pick one or two types, or type a Pokémon’s name to fill them in. Abilities that block or soften a type, like Levitate or Thick Fat, are counted when you choose them. Switch to Attacking to see what one move type is good and bad against.

Team checker reads the text your team builder exports. In Pokémon Showdown, open the team, press Import/Export and copy the text. The table shows how hard each move type hits every member, and highlights types that three or more of your team are weak to. Under it, the offense grid shows the best multiplier your moves reach against each type, and lists Pokémon that resist everything you carry. Tick Use Tera types to see the team after it Terastallizes.

Speed tiers works out a Pokémon’s Speed with its nature, EVs, stat stages, Choice Scarf, Tailwind and paralysis, then shows where it lands among every fully evolved Pokémon, with common spreads. Type a name in “Compare with” to see only that Pokémon’s lines.

Damage estimates how much one move does, with all 16 damage rolls, the share of the target’s HP and the chance to knock it out in one, two or more hits. Load either side from your pasted team, or set the nature, EVs, item, ability, stat stage and Tera Type by hand.

EVs shows a set’s stats, works out the fewest Speed EVs to outspeed a chosen Pokémon (with or without a Choice Scarf on either side), and splits your spare EVs across HP, Defense and Special Defense for the most bulk.

Team vs team takes the opponent’s team too and fills two grids: the best hit each of your Pokémon lands on each of theirs, and the reverse, with who moves first.

Coverage ranks sets of two, three or four move types by how many fully evolved Pokémon they hit for at least normal damage, and lists the ones that resist all of them.

Tera ranks the 18 Tera types for a team member by how few weaknesses they leave and which of your team’s gaps they fill.

Share link (on the Team checker) copies a link that opens this page with your team pasted in. The team rides inside the link; nothing is stored on a server.

How exact is the damage?

It uses the current games’ formula, including the way they round numbers, Terastallization, weather, critical hits, burns, screens and spread moves in doubles. We checked it against the community calculator on many common cases. It doesn’t know every ability and item: ones it doesn’t count are marked “not counted”. Moves whose power changes in battle, like Low Kick or Gyro Ball, let you type the power yourself.

Questions

Is my team sent anywhere? No. Everything runs in your browser. The pasted team is kept on this device so it’s there next time; press Clear to remove it.

Which Pokémon are included? Every species and form up to the latest games, plus Megas and older forms for National Dex play. The speed list starts with the current games; choose “All, with Megas” for the rest.

Is this made by Nintendo or Pokémon Showdown? No. It’s an unofficial fan-made tool. Pokémon and Pokémon names are trademarks of Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures.
