How to play
There’s one kind of goods for each player (bread, pearls, feathers, pebbles and so on), nine cards of each, and everyone gets nine cards. Your goal is to get all nine of one kind.
There are no turns. Pick a kind in your hand and hold out one to four of them. Everyone sees how many cards you’re offering, but not what they are. To trade, pick a kind you want rid of and tap someone’s offer of the same number: the cards swap at once, and neither of you knows what you got until you look.
The moment you hold all nine of one kind, ring the bell. You score that kind’s value: bread 100, pearls 90, feathers 80, pebbles 75, reeds 70, seeds 60, snails 55, moss 50 (only as many kinds as players are used). Then everything is dealt again. The first to the target score wins.
Tips
Collect the kind you already have most of and trade the rest away. Hold out your biggest unwanted group: three or four cards are the offers other traders can match most easily. Watch for a kind that keeps coming back to you; someone else may be collecting it.
