How to play
There are 81 cards, one for every mix of four traits: the count (one, two or three shapes), the shape (circle, triangle or square), the color (red, green or blue) and the fill (solid, pale or empty).
Twelve cards are face up. Three cards make a trio when, looking at each trait on its own, the three cards are either all the same or all different. If two match and one doesn’t on any trait, it isn’t a trio.
There are no turns: everyone looks at once. Tap three cards to call a trio. A right call scores a point and three new cards come out. A wrong one costs a point and keeps you out for three seconds. When there’s no trio among the cards on the table, three more are added.
The quick game ends when someone has six trios. The long game uses the whole deck and ends when no trio is left.
Examples
One solid red circle, two solid red circles, three solid red circles: a trio (only the count changes). One solid red circle, two pale green triangles, three empty blue squares: also a trio (everything changes). One solid red circle, two solid red circles, three solid green circles: not a trio, because two are red and one is green.
Tips
Pick any two cards and work out the one card that would complete them; then look for it. Start with traits that stand out, like color. With several players on one device, tap your name first, then pick your three.
