How to play
Everyone learns the same secret word, except one player: the faker, who only knows the category (say, “Animals”). Then, one at a time, each player adds one line to a shared drawing in their own color, going round twice. Lift your finger and your turn is over.
When the drawing is done, everyone talks it over and votes on who the faker is. If the vote lands on someone else, or ends in a tie, the faker wins. If the faker is caught, they get one chance to name the word, using the drawing everyone just made, and steal the win.
Scoring
The faker scores 2 for slipping away or for naming the word. If they’re caught and guess wrong, every other player scores 1. Play as many games as you like; each one deals a new word and a new faker.
Tips
Artists: draw something that proves you know the word, but not so much that the faker can work it out. A tail is safer than a trunk. Faker: go second if you can, watch the first lines closely, and draw something vague that would fit most answers. Everyone: look for the line that doesn’t quite belong.
Playing together
On one device, the secrets are shown to each player in turn behind a “pass the phone” screen, then the device goes round for the drawing (hold “peek” to see your word again). Online, everyone draws on their own phone and watches the picture grow on theirs.
