How to play
Everyone starts off the board. Take turns rolling the die and moving your token that many squares, from 1 at the bottom left, winding back and forth up to 100 at the top.
Land at the foot of a ladder and you climb straight to its top. Land on a snake’s head and you slide down to its tail. Rolling a six gives you another roll, up to three in a row.
Finishing
The first player to reach square 100 wins. With Exact roll on (the usual rule), you need the exact number: if you roll too high, you move up to 100 and bounce back by the extra, which can drop you onto the snake on 99. With Any roll, any roll that reaches 100 wins, for shorter games.
Playing together
On one device, set up to six seats with any mix of people and computer players, and pass it round. Online, everyone opens the invite link on their own phone and rolls on their own turn; computer players can fill seats.
Is there any skill?
No: it’s all in the dice, which is why it works for any age and any mix of players. That also means anyone can come back from a long snake.
