How to play

Everyone starts with 3 coins, a Reed Bed and a Bread Stall. On your turn, roll one die (or two, once you have the Boat Dock). Every building with the number you rolled pays out, then you may buy one building from the market, or one of your landmarks. The first player to build all four landmarks wins.

The four colours

  • Blue buildings pay their owner from the bank on anyone’s roll.
  • Green buildings pay only when their owner rolls.
  • Red buildings take coins from whoever rolled. They’re paid first, starting with the player to the roller’s right, and only as far as the roller’s coins go.
  • Purple buildings work on their owner’s roll and take coins from the others. You can own only one of each.

Buildings

  • Reed Bed (blue, 1 coin, rolls 1): 1 coin on anyone's roll.
  • Duck Farm (blue, 1 coin, rolls 2): 1 coin on anyone's roll.
  • Bread Stall (green, 1 coin, rolls 2 or 3): 1 coin on your roll.
  • Snack Hut (red, 2 coins, rolls 3): Take 1 coin from the roller.
  • Corner Shop (green, 2 coins, rolls 4): 3 coins on your roll.
  • Woodlot (blue, 3 coins, rolls 5): 1 coin on anyone's roll.
  • Big Splash (purple, 6 coins, rolls 6): Take 2 coins from every player.
  • Toll Bridge (purple, 7 coins, rolls 6): Take 5 coins from the richest player.
  • Dairy (green, 5 coins, rolls 7): 3 coins for each Duck Farm you own.
  • Carpenter (green, 3 coins, rolls 8): 3 coins for each Woodlot and Quarry.
  • Quarry (blue, 6 coins, rolls 9): 5 coins on anyone's roll.
  • Diner (red, 3 coins, rolls 9 or 10): Take 2 coins from the roller.
  • Orchard (blue, 3 coins, rolls 10): 3 coins on anyone's roll.
  • Fruit Market (green, 2 coins, rolls 11 or 12): 2 coins for each Reed Bed and Orchard.

Landmarks

  • Boat Dock (4 coins): Roll one die or two.
  • Arcade (10 coins): Your shops and food pay 1 more.
  • Fun Fair (16 coins): Roll a double for another turn.
  • Lighthouse (22 coins): Once a turn, you may roll again.

Tips

Early on, cheap buildings that pay on anyone’s roll keep coins coming in. Once you have the Boat Dock, the big numbers open up: a Dairy with a few Duck Farms, or a Carpenter with Woodlots, can pay a lot. Watch the red buildings around the table, and don’t sit on a pile of coins when someone owns a Toll Bridge.
