How to play

Five things sit on the table, each in its own colour: a yellow duck, a green frog, a blue fish, a brown boot and a red berry.

A card turns over showing two pictures, each in some colour. If one of them is shown in its own colour, like a yellow duck, grab that one. If neither is, grab the thing that isn’t on the card at all, in shape or in colour. A green fish and a red boot, for example, rule out the fish, frog, boot and berry, so you grab the duck.

The first right grab wins the card. A wrong grab costs a point and sits you out until the next card. After the last card, whoever has won the most wins. On a keyboard, the keys 1 to 5 grab the five things in order.

Tips

Look for a matching colour first; it’s quicker. When there isn’t one, check the colours first, then the shapes: the thing left over is the answer.
