How to play
The game combines two unrelated things and an audience into one product, such as “A teapot that is also a bicycle, for people who hate mornings”. Every player gets 30 seconds to pitch it to the rest of the group: what it is called, what it does, why the audience needs it. Be confident, specific and a little ridiculous. The phone keeps the timer and moves to the next pitcher.
When everyone has pitched, the phone is passed round for a secret vote for the best pitch (you can’t vote for yourself). The player with the most votes wins the round and scores a point; ties share it. The first pitcher changes every round, and the scores carry on until you change the players.
Tips
Start with the problem, not the product. Give it a name and a slogan. A good pitch makes the audience part of the joke. If you are stuck, describe a day in the life of a happy customer.
Does it need the internet? Only to load the page. It works well in the same room, or on a call: pick Play online and everyone joins the same room on their own phone.
