How to play
Pebbles come in five colors (Reed, Sky, Sun, Berry and Shell), plus gold, which counts as any color. The market shows four stalls from each of three decks; the higher decks cost more and are worth more stars.
On your turn, do one of these:
- Take three pebbles of different colors.
- Take two pebbles of one color, if that pile has at least four.
- Hold a stall from the market for later, and take a gold. You can hold up to three.
- Buy a stall from the market or one you’re holding, paying its cost in pebbles (gold fills any gap).
Every stall you own counts as one pebble of its color, forever. So cheap stalls early make the big ones affordable later. You can’t keep more than ten pebbles; give back the extra at the end of your turn.
Swans
Each swan wants a set of stalls, such as four Reed and four Sky. As soon as you own them, the swan visits you at the end of your turn, worth 3 stars. Swans never cost anything.
The end
When someone reaches 15 stars, the round is finished so everyone has had the same number of turns. The most stars wins; a tie goes to whoever bought fewer stalls.
Tips
Early on, buy cheap stalls in the colors the big stalls and swans need. Hold a stall your rival is about to buy. Watch the ten-pebble limit: hoarding wastes turns.
