How to play
The board has 240 paint chips: twenty hues across, from light at the top to dark at the bottom. Each turn one player is the clue giver. They’re shown four chips, pick one in secret, and describe it in one or two words.
The catch: no plain colour words. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, black, white and grey are out (and so is anything starting with them, like “reddish”). Try things like “tomato”, “deep sea” or “old banana”.
Everyone else taps the chip they think it is. Then the chip is shown: a guess right on it scores 3, one of the eight chips around it 2, and the ring around those 1. The clue giver scores 1 for every guess on or touching the chip. Everyone gives one clue (or two); the most points wins.
Tips
Pick the chip you have the best word for, not the prettiest. Words like light, pale, dark and deep help people find the right row. On a phone, the board is turned on its side so the chips are bigger.
