How to play Neon Cycles

Every cycle leaves a solid wall of light behind it. Steer around the arena and trap the other riders before they trap you.

  • Steering: arrow keys or WASD, a swipe on the board, or a controller. You can’t turn straight back on yourself.
  • Crashing: you crash if you touch the edge, any trail (including your own) or another rider head on.
  • Endless mode: when you crash you come back after 3 seconds. You score a point each time another rider crashes into your trail.
  • Rounds mode: the last rider alive wins the round and a point, then a new round starts.

Ways to play: create a room and share the four-letter code (up to eight riders fit in one arena), or practise against bots.

Tips

  • Stay away from the edges. Hugging a wall leaves you only one way to turn.
  • Cut across in front of a rider to make them turn, but leave yourself a way out.
  • Plan two turns ahead. You can queue a few turns before the cycle moves.
  • Try rounds mode with one bot first. Each extra bot makes the arena fill up faster.

Questions

Is it free? Yes. No account, no download, nothing to pay for.

Can I play on a phone? Yes. Swipe in the direction you want to turn.

What is the difference between the two modes? In endless mode you keep playing and score points for crashes you cause. In rounds mode one crash is the end of your round, and only the last rider standing scores.
