Waking your duck…

How to look after your duck

Name your duck and keep four meters up: fullness, energy, hygiene and fun. They slowly go down while you play, and the duck shows you what it needs.

  • Feed: bread adds 25 to fullness. The duck says no when it’s almost full.
  • Wash: a bath puts hygiene back to full.
  • Sleep: asleep, the duck gains energy much faster than it loses it awake. Wake it up when the bar is full.
  • Play: petting adds a little fun. The pond arcade has Rock Paper Scissors, Duck Snake and Flappy Duck, which earn bigger fun and coins.

Coins and hats

You start with 20 coins. Win a round of Rock Paper Scissors for 15, or earn one coin for every bread you eat in Duck Snake and every pipe you pass in Flappy Duck. Spend them in the hat shop: there are seven hats, from a blue cap at 50 coins to a crown at 500.

Tips

  • Check the meters now and then. A meter under 25 is marked as low.
  • Games use a little energy, and the duck is too tired to play below 10. Let it sleep first.
  • You can’t feed, wash or play with a sleeping duck. Wake it up first.

Questions

Is it free? Yes. No account, no download, nothing to pay for.

Does the duck change while I’m away? Yes, but more slowly than when you’re playing, so a day away isn’t a disaster. It gets hungrier and dirtier, and a sleeping duck keeps resting.

Where is my duck saved? In this browser, on this device. Clearing your site data would lose it.
