How to play
There are six prize stalls, numbered 1 to 6. Each round, every stall puts out prize tickets worth 10 to 90 coins, at least 50 in all. Everyone has eight dice in their own colour.
On your turn your remaining dice are rolled. Pick one number you rolled and put all the dice showing it on the stall with that number. Turns go round until everyone’s dice are out.
Then each stall pays out. First, anyone whose number of dice there matches someone else’s gets nothing: ties cancel. Of the rest, the player with the most dice takes the biggest ticket, the next most takes the next ticket, and so on. After four rounds, the most coins wins.
With two or three players, everyone also rolls a few white dice for the Heron. White dice go out with your own dice of the same number and compete like another player; tickets the Heron wins are lost.
Tips
Putting down the same number of dice as a rival knocks you both out, which is handy when they lead a stall you can’t win. A big group early claims a stall, but the last few dice in the round are the most useful, because by then you can see exactly what they’ll win.
