How to play
Add the players and choose a level to start at. A question card appears for the player whose turn it is; they answer out loud, then press Next question to move to the next player. Some cards are marked Everyone answers, and then each person gives their own answer. Each player has two passes per game: pressing Pass swaps the card for a new one without losing the turn. Nobody has to answer anything they don’t want to.
The three levels
Warm-up is easy and fun, for people who have just met. Curious asks about stories, hopes and what-ifs. Deeper asks thoughtful questions for people who want a real conversation. After a while the game suggests going a level deeper, and you can ignore the suggestion and stay where you are. Each deck has more than thirty questions and none repeat until you have seen them all.
Tips
Listen without interrupting, and ask a follow-up (the game offers one under each card). Keep answers short in a big group. It works well with friends, families, new teammates and long car rides. This game only asks questions: there are no dares, and nothing is scored.
Is anything sent anywhere? Not on one device: the game runs right here. The names you type are remembered in this browser for next time. Can we play on a video call? Yes: pick Play online and everyone joins the same room on their own phone. For more questions, see the Icebreaker Questions tool.
