How to play
The deck has the cards 3 to 35, and nine of them are put away unseen at the start, so nobody knows quite what’s coming. Everyone gets 11 crumbs (9 with six players, 7 with seven).
One card is turned up. On your turn you either take it, along with any crumbs sitting on it, or pay a crumb onto it and pass it to the next player. If you have no crumbs, you have to take it. Whoever takes a card turns up the next one and decides first.
When the last card is taken, add up your cards. A run of cards in a row (say 21, 22, 23) only counts its lowest card. Then take off one point for every crumb you still have. The lowest score wins.
Tips
A card that fits one of your runs costs you nothing, so let it go round once or twice to collect crumbs, as long as nobody else wants it too. A big card with a pile of crumbs on it can be worth taking early. Run out of crumbs and you’re at everyone’s mercy, so don’t pay them away too freely.
Playing together
Seat three to seven players in any mix of people and computer players. On one device everyone’s crumbs are on show; in Play online (when it’s available) your crumbs stay secret on your own phone until the round ends.
