How to play

Every player has the same 21 pieces in their color: one single square, one domino, two pieces of three, five of four and twelve of five. Three or four players use a 20 × 20 board and start in its corners; two players use a 14 × 14 board and start near the middle.

Your first piece must cover your starting square (marked with a ring). After that, each piece you place must touch one of your own pieces at a corner and must never share an edge with one of your own. Touching other colors along an edge is fine, and so is squeezing through their gaps.

To place a piece: pick it from your tray, turn or flip it, then tap the board. A green outline means it fits; tap it again (or press Place) to put it down. The dots show your open corners.

If you can’t place any of your pieces, you’re out for the rest of the game. When nobody can move, everyone scores one point per square on the board. Placing all 21 pieces earns 15 more, and 5 on top of that if the single square was your last.

Tips

Play your big, awkward five-square pieces early while there’s room, and save the small ones for tight gaps at the end. Head for the middle quickly. Each piece you place should open new corners for you and, when you can, cover the corners your rivals were about to use.
