How to play

Each round shows a strange but true fact with one word missing, like “A group of flamingos is called a ____.” Everyone secretly writes a fib: a made-up answer that sounds like it could be true. Then all the fibs are shuffled in with the real answer, and everyone picks the one they think is true.

Scoring

Pick the real answer and you score 2 points. Every player who falls for your fib gives you 1 point. If two people write the same fib, it appears once and both score from it. You can’t pick your own fib, and if you happen to write the real answer, the game quietly asks you for a fib instead (so keep a straight face). Highest score after the last round wins.

Playing together

On one phone, pass it round twice each round: once to write fibs and once to pick, each player tapping their name so nobody peeks. Online, everyone plays on their own phone from the invite link, which suits a video call or a big room. Three players works; five or more is when it gets really fun.

Tips

The best fibs match the style of the question: a short, plain word for a short blank, a number when it asks for a number. Think about what the others will write, too. When you’re picking, the answer that seems too odd to be made up is often the true one. Every fact in the game is real and checked; some are just very hard to believe.
