How to play
This is charades with the word cards and the clock built in. The players are split into two teams, taking turns: players 1, 3, 5 and so on are Team 1, and players 2, 4, 6 are Team 2. On your turn, the phone is passed to you; only you look at it. Press Start the clock and a word appears. Act it out without speaking, without pointing at the word and without spelling it with your hands, while your team shouts guesses. When they get it, press Got it and a new word appears. If a word is too hard, press Pass. When time runs out, the number of words you got is added to your team’s score.
Choose the types of words (animals, actions, jobs, sports and games, everyday things), the length of a turn (45, 60 or 90 seconds) and how many rounds each player acts (1 to 3). The team with the most words at the end wins.
Tips for actors and guessers
Actors: start with the type of word if you can, such as an animal or an action, then use big, simple movements. For a long phrase like “brushing teeth” act out one part and let your team build from it. Guessers: call out anything you see, because a wrong guess costs nothing and helps the actor know what you are thinking. Teams will want one person to keep time and watch the rules. Younger children can play too, with the easier words, since all the words are everyday things.
Is anything sent anywhere? No. The words are on your device and the game keeps no records.
